Samia Malik is a screenwriter, production designer, and architect fused into one multifaceted (sometimes confused) creative mind. As a first-generation Pakistani-Muslim- American woman, she understands that her viewpoint is very unique. It has allowed her to become comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Recently, Malik has been moving towards transforming her eight years of experience in the art department into a career in Writing, Producing and Directing. Before this change, Malik worked for not-for-profits on the South Side of Chicago. She was a Program Manager in Chatham for four years, creating and managing a youth training program for at-risk teens. From this to her prior job beautifying business corridors as a Project Manager in Auburn Gresham, Malik’s work has given her exposure to very different communities on the South Side of Chicago. She keeps ties to community by volunteering for My Block, My Hood, My City as a volunteer coordinator. MBMHMC takes underprivileged students

on explorations throughout the city of Chicago.

Currently, Malik is actively collaborating with film colleagues in Chicago on developing short series and films that experiment with different genres, styles, and cinematography techniques to tell meaningful and innovative stories. She just completed her role as Assistant Art Director on Disney Plus’ Saturdays in September of 2022.
